Google posts up to date

If not updated, Google posts will be removed within 7 days

Google has now made it clear that to have fresh messages in your local panel; you need to keep your Google posts up to date.

Now it has been confirmed by Google itself that most of the Google posts are removed after they are first published. The only exception to this rule is the posts which are based on upcoming events. So, the posts with event date are removed only after the event date has passed and all other posts are removed within 7 days.

In the month of June 2017, Google posts went live for all the businesses verified within Google My Business (GMB) and the content which could be directly shared by the businesses to their customer, started appearing in both search results and maps results. To make your Google posts go live, you need to first click on Google My Business and then click on listings. Then on the left side, click on post button in the navigation and then fill out the form with photo, description and other things. After reviewing your content, you can finally click on publish and it will be added to the log of Google posts in your business.

But with the new confirmation of removing Google posts within 7 days by Google has to be now kept in mind by the customers of Google My business while posting or continuing their Google posts which are now going live.

According to a Google Spokesperson ‘‘Posts enable merchants to share timely, relevant updates on Google Search and Maps. To ensure that posts are timely, they’re removed from the default view after seven days (or when the event date the post referenced has passed). However, a historical view of posts is shown under the Posts tab on mobile.”

This update is one of the many unannounced updates of Google My Business which we have seen in the year 2017.
